The Appointment Took Longer or Shorter Than Booked – How Am I Charged?

Find out how your final charge is calculated when a cleaning appointment lasts longer or finishes earlier than originally booked.

Sometimes a cleaning takes a little more or less time than expected. Your home may need extra attention, or the service provider may finish sooner than planned.

Because you are not charged in advance, there is no separate refund process for unused time. After the appointment, your service provider records the final details when creating the invoice, and your charge is calculated accordingly.

⏱️ If the appointment took longer

After the cleaning is completed, your service provider issues the invoice.

If the appointment lasted longer than originally booked, they can update the duration before issuing the invoice. You will then be charged according to the adjusted appointment details.

Depending on the type of change, you may receive an email asking you to confirm it.

🕒 If the appointment finished earlier

You are not charged in advance, so there is no unused amount that needs to be refunded.

Your service provider can record the shorter duration when issuing the invoice, and the final charge will be based on the updated appointment details.

✏️ Can I change the duration myself?

Before the appointment takes place, you can submit a change request for:

  • A single appointment

  • Your entire recurring order

Once the cleaning has started, only your service provider can change the appointment details when creating the invoice.

🧾 Who creates the invoice?

Invoices are issued by Helpling on behalf of the self-employed service providers. To issue the invoice, the service providers confirm after cleaning that the appointment was completed.

If the duration or other appointment details changed, the service provider can include those changes before issuing the invoice.

💡 Good to know

You only pay after the appointment has been completed and the invoice has been created.

A longer or shorter appointment therefore does not result in an additional charge or refund against an advance payment. Instead, the final amount is calculated using the appointment details recorded for the invoice.
