You don't need to deep clean before your service provider arrives, but spending a few minutes getting your home ready can help the appointment run more smoothly and give your service provider more time to focus on the cleaning itself.
Here's a quick checklist to help you prepare.
🔑 Make sure your service provider can access your home
Before the appointment, confirm how your service provider will enter your home.
For example:
You'll be home to let them in
You've agreed on a key handover
You've shared any door codes or entry instructions
Clear access helps avoid delays on the day of your appointment.
💬 Share your cleaning priorities
Every home is different.
If there are rooms, surfaces, or tasks you'd like your service provider to focus on, let them know before the cleaning begins.
You can also add cleaning instructions to your booking or discuss them in the chat.
🧺 Put away personal or valuable items
We recommend storing away:
Important documents
Cash
Jewellery
Fragile valuables
Sensitive personal belongings
This helps create a comfortable experience for both you and your service provider.
✨ Make cleaning areas accessible
If possible, remove unnecessary clutter from surfaces and floors.
There's no need to tidy your entire home, but making important areas easy to reach allows your service provider to spend more time cleaning rather than moving belongings.
🐾 Let your service provider know about pets
If you have pets at home, let your service provider know before the appointment.
If there are any special instructions, it's helpful to discuss them in advance.
📝 Add cleaning instructions
You can use Cleaning instructions to tell your service provider which tasks you’d like them to focus on during the appointment.
Open your order, select Edit, then choose Add cleaning instructions.
From there, you can select tasks such as:
Changing sheets
Fridge cleaning
Oven cleaning
Window cleaning
Garbage disposal
Folding clothes
Ironing
Vacuuming carpets
Dishwashing
Wiping furniture tops
You can also use the Cleaning Details field to explain your priorities or add any extra information for your service provider.
🧴 Prepare any cleaning supplies
Customers are expected to provide the cleaning products and equipment needed for the appointment, as service providers do not normally bring their own.
Make sure everything is available before the cleaning begins.
If you are unable to provide the necessary supplies, contact your service provider in advance to discuss whether another arrangement is possible.
